I'm gonna be on the radio.

I talked briefly to someone on the phone today from a radio station called Green 960 AM about the post I did the other day about my experiences with the Clipper Card. I think I'm a relatively intelligent person, so it was a pleasure speaking to someone else who also seemed just as intelligent (probably more so) have similar troubles with the card.

I can remember two other times that I've been on the radio. One time was when Z95.7 was still around and I called in for a morning show contest. They would read off some lyrics from a television show's intro song (think the Full House introduction) and you were supposed to guess the show. When my turn came up, I didn't recognize the words, so I guessed "Webster". They laughed and sent me a consolation prize: the self-titled Blaque album.

The second time was when I was significantly younger and listened to a lot of 99.7 KFRC (an oldies station). I called in for a dedication to a girl I liked (I was in the fifth grade). I stayed up past my bedtime, listening to the radio, seeing if they'd play my dedication. They eventually did, hours later, cutting in audio from a conversation I never had. The edited content went something like this:

DJ: [clearly in a room full of people, throwing a party] Whoa, calm down guys! We got a phone call!
Me: Hi, I'd like to make a dedication. Can you play Earth Angel for Megan please?
DJ: You got it! Earth Angel for Megan! [party resumes]

How it happened in real life:
DJ: Hello, KFRC.
Me: Hi, I'd like to make a dedication. Can you play Earth Angel for Megan please?
DJ: We'll see what we can do. Thanks for calling.
