i attempted a legitimate effort at buttermilk fried chicken. I let the chicken marinate in buttermilk and then dredged them them through a random flour, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika mixture. I didn't really have a recipe.
It came out alright. It really makes me appreciate the manufactured, yet consistent, taste you get from fast food fried chicken (Popeye's, KFC, even Safeway).
I don't think I'll be attempting this anytime soon, but I'm glad I did attempt it before the year ended.
